Westover Hatchery is not only committed to providing the finest fish possible, but also to ensuring that these fish are delivered to a habitat that will award you the greatest benefit. If you are uncertain how many fish are appropriate for the size of your pond, or even if you are unsure what size your pond is, we will gladly visit your property (at no charge) to assess the pond and make recommendations based on that assessment. While we typically recommend stocking 100 pounds of fish per acre, there are always other factors, such as depth and water condition, that can determine the appropriate number of trout to maximize the potential of your fishery.
In addition, we can recommend and provide the appropriate food for your fishery. The correct quantity and quality of food can go a long way in maintaining the best possible quality of your trout. Children and adults love feeding the trout, and by providing the appropriate food, people will be deterred from feeding the fish potentially harmful "people food."
